Gerhards Appliances - Washing Machine Repair Review from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Gerhard's have been coming to my house to repair my Samsung washing machine for over 3 months now. Even the head tech has come out to repair my washer and it is still not fixed.
Gerhard's should have replaced my washing machine but the technician hasn't put in the order for a new washer. Instead, he keeps trying to repair the washer. He has replaced almost all the parts that can be replaced and still my washing machine isn't working. When you call and leave a message for the service manager he never returns your call.
Very, very poor customer service.
I have been a customer for years but after this experience I will never buy a Gerhard's appliance again in life. They have lost a customer.
Terrible Customer Service
I bought a Bosch dishwasher and unfortunately the dishwasher was broken upon installation. Of course, this is not Gerhard's fault, however, you would think that they would help rectify the situation.
It has been over a week now and I call them every day to schedule a day and time for a replacement to be delivered and installed. The one day that we did land on a time and date, they didn't show up. They don't return calls and are extremely rude as if it is my fault.
Be warned...the sales team is very friendly but the service manager (Dawn) is the most unprofessional person that I have ever dealt with.

I recently purchased a gas wall oven and cooktop. The oven arrived and looks used.
The cooktop, I was told was in the NE last Tuesday. I go Sat. To pick it up and guess what? No cooktop.
I had contractors scheduled to do install on Monday. Of course the employees aren't helpful. I call today and the woman at the NE store said she would look into and call me back. 5 hours later no return call.
I call back and speak to someone in the Glenside office who tells me that between the warehouse and the store it can't be located. She is suppose to call me back tomorrow, so we will see.
Their customer service is non existent. I am going to just cancel the order!!!!!

I went into Gerhards Glenside in the Keswick Village and was greeted by a young women who was very easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable immediately. I had done my research online ahead of time about what dishwasher I wanted buy but going into the showroom (beautiful by the way), talking to the sales women, understanding my needs, feeling the products- was well worth the trip!
I got a better value in a dishwasher and experience than I could have hope for! It's been installed and running quietly for weeks- sometimes I have to check to make sure it's even on!

Company does not honor its extended warranty!!
I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer 3 years ago. I also purchased a 5 year extended warranty through Gerhards.
My washer is now broken and has been for 3 weeks. After waiting for a week and a half for the part to come in, the service man left saying it was fixed. I ran the first load and it was not fixed at all. When I called he said, "oh yes, I thought that might be a problem." I was told the new part would be rushed in and the day I was told by the service man he would come out, I called to ask why an appointment hadn't been scheduled.
They told me the warranty company, New Lease, was supposed to call me 5 days ago and offer me a buyout. They then offered me $93 for my 3 year old washer that has a 5 year warranty. I have called almost every day and am now being told that John Gerhard, Director of Service, is taking care of it. However, that was 6 days ago and he has not called me or returned my call.
I cannot believe that they will not stand by their warranty. I chose them trying to keep business local, but they will not get my business again.
