We are reminding our kitchen and went to the Barn Plaza location at 7 pm. There were 3 employees sitting at back of store and no one approached us as we walked around the store, even though they saw us there. Will take our business elsewhere.

DISHWASHER

for the last year gearhard's service has been at my home 9 timers & i pair them $487.19 to repair my samsung dishwasher & its still not fixed i spoke to Richard Jones & TJScully who rudley told me its 5 years old so i told him lets just talk about the last year that you people were out 9 times & $487.19 out of my pocket just give me a deal on a new dishwasher he said i'll backdate the sale date & give me the rebate that was on the machine i wanted to buy so i said ok now what are you going to do for me since i paid $487.19 in service bills & its still not fixed just give me free installation & i was told no many calls to Richard & TJ & LEFT MESSAGES & NO RETURN CALLS P/S DONT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM GEARHARDS IF YOU COULD NEED SERVICE BECAUSE YOU WILL BEGIN A MAJOR NITEMARE

Gerhards Appliances. Horrendous Delivery and Worse Customer Service

We purchased a full suite of Kitchen-aid appliances from Gerhards. The day before delivery we had finished a brand new hardwood floor install to the entire kitchen. The delivery guys turned up and I asked them to use the plywood sheet the flooring contractor had left me, to put down in front of the stove and refrigerator to protect the new floor whilst the appliances were installed. They refused. As a result our brand new floor was damaged. It cost me $650 to repair. Thank goodness I had not settled my account with Gerhards. I was able to deduct that money from the balance due. Despite repeated attempts to contact Gerhards I got zero response from anyone. Even after sending them a check for the balance that I believed to be due, still no response. Now I receive a statement from them which is totally incorrect and with a sticker attached telling me to contact their auditors!!! Bottom line is that they have the worst customer service and delivery team I have ever come across after over 30 years in business!! Do NOT trust them. Whilst the initial sale price may be lower, the heartache you stand to suffer from their after-sales service and support more than justifies paying a little extra and going somewhere else. Horrendous, and I was dealing with Linda Gerhard directly myself, so if this is how the owner and boss conducts herself then it's no surprise the rest of her staff think they can do the same. RUN AWAY FROM GERHARDS AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!

Gerhards Appliances Refrigerator Repair Review

My elderly parents brought a refrigerator from Gerhards with the service contract. The frig broke last week and were told the soonest appointment for maintenance was today, a week later. My elderly parents rearranged their doctors appointments to wait for the maintenance man all day who never showed or called. My opinion of them is that they don't care about their customers after the sale.

Gerhards Appliances - Washing Machine Repair Review from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Gerhard's have been coming to my house to repair my Samsung washing machine for over 3 months now. Even the head tech has come out to repair my washer and it is still not fixed.

Gerhard's should have replaced my washing machine but the technician hasn't put in the order for a new washer. Instead, he keeps trying to repair the washer. He has replaced almost all the parts that can be replaced and still my washing machine isn't working. When you call and leave a message for the service manager he never returns your call.

Very, very poor customer service.

I have been a customer for years but after this experience I will never buy a Gerhard's appliance again in life. They have lost a customer.

Terrible Customer Service

I bought a Bosch dishwasher and unfortunately the dishwasher was broken upon installation. Of course, this is not Gerhard's fault, however, you would think that they would help rectify the situation.

It has been over a week now and I call them every day to schedule a day and time for a replacement to be delivered and installed. The one day that we did land on a time and date, they didn't show up. They don't return calls and are extremely rude as if it is my fault.

Be warned...the sales team is very friendly but the service manager (Dawn) is the most unprofessional person that I have ever dealt with.

Gerhards Appliances Shipping Service Review from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

I recently purchased a gas wall oven and cooktop. The oven arrived and looks used.

The cooktop, I was told was in the NE last Tuesday. I go Sat. To pick it up and guess what? No cooktop.

I had contractors scheduled to do install on Monday. Of course the employees aren't helpful. I call today and the woman at the NE store said she would look into and call me back. 5 hours later no return call.

I call back and speak to someone in the Glenside office who tells me that between the warehouse and the store it can't be located. She is suppose to call me back tomorrow, so we will see.

Their customer service is non existent. I am going to just cancel the order!!!!!

@Gerhard - the delivery people were horrible ...

Told me that "everything in life is not perfect" They dug up my driveway when they tried to back in. They told me after I wanted an incident report submitted that it would be done. I then said NO stop and call it in. They spoke a language I didn't know so I have no idea what they told the person. He then handed me the phone to speak with her. She wanted to know which companies we use for paving?'?!? What? THEY CAME TO MY HOME. No of course I don't have that info handy. Fine she says she will make a report and submit it. COME TO FIND OUT TODAY THAT NEVER HAPPENED. They took our money and now are acting like nothing ever happened. Everyone there is RUDE AND INCOMPETENT. NEVER WILL GO BACK

I had a wonderful experience with Gerhards appliances. I purchased a stove from the Glenside location at a reasonable price compared to other appliance stores. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I will definately be returning to the store whenever I need an appliance or electronic device. They have such a variety of appliances it's actually hard to choose. They have a huge selection of colors in all the appliances too. Gerhards also has alot of different promotions especially on Holidays. So make sure if you are shopping for an appliance you check out their website or Facebook for sale prices and promotions. I would recommend to anyone what a wonderful experience I had with Gerhards.

Family Business Family Value

I went into Gerhards Glenside in the Keswick Village and was greeted by a young women who was very easy to talk to and made me feel comfortable immediately. I had done my research online ahead of time about what dishwasher I wanted buy but going into the showroom (beautiful by the way), talking to the sales women, understanding my needs, feeling the products- was well worth the trip!

I got a better value in a dishwasher and experience than I could have hope for! It's been installed and running quietly for weeks- sometimes I have to check to make sure it's even on!

Do not buy anything from Gerhards

I purchased over 10 thousand dollars in Viking equipment from this dump. The microwave caught on fire its very first use. The two ovens never worked properly. They sent out a technician and we were told everything was fine. This happened after a battle with the owner. Worst company I have come across in a long time. Nearly 4 years later now both ovens don't work at all. I need to buy new ovens now. Thanks Gerhards -I am and have been telling everyone I possibly can to not buy anything from your store. You think you would change your business practices......

Company does not honor its extended warranty!!

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washer 3 years ago. I also purchased a 5 year extended warranty through Gerhards.

My washer is now broken and has been for 3 weeks. After waiting for a week and a half for the part to come in, the service man left saying it was fixed. I ran the first load and it was not fixed at all. When I called he said, "oh yes, I thought that might be a problem." I was told the new part would be rushed in and the day I was told by the service man he would come out, I called to ask why an appointment hadn't been scheduled.

They told me the warranty company, New Lease, was supposed to call me 5 days ago and offer me a buyout. They then offered me $93 for my 3 year old washer that has a 5 year warranty. I have called almost every day and am now being told that John Gerhard, Director of Service, is taking care of it. However, that was 6 days ago and he has not called me or returned my call.

I cannot believe that they will not stand by their warranty. I chose them trying to keep business local, but they will not get my business again.

Great experience. we had our refrigerator die on us two days before New Year's Eve. We have an unusual size opening, 2 inches shorter than the standard large height. That had a model in stock that they delivered same day and that fit... The big boxes either didn't have a model that would fit or would've had to do a special order and we would have had to wait over two weeks. Really impressed and appreciated the service and selection.

I'm getting the run-around from Gerhards service dept.

I recently purchased three appliances from Gerhards Appliances in Glenside. Although the delivery men were careful & conscientious, three floor tiles were broken when they removed our old range. I was told to speak with Dawn in Service to ask about getting the damage repaired. After leaving several messages, I did get to speak with her. After sending her a copy of the estimate as she instructed, I've sent a follow-up email and left two phone messages. It's been almost two weeks, and I still have not had a response.

I had the same experience with Gerhards. Exactly.

No return calls, rudeness, awful treatment of the customer. It would be easy for them to be polite but they seem to go out of their way to mistreat and almost insult the customer. Nearly every posting on this review site says the same stuff. Since it's a complaint site, I suspect the (few) positive comments are written by the retailer as a happy customer would not choose a complaint site for their comments ...

Nice try on their part though. Imagine how many people are dissatisfied and never wrote a review. It's stunning. Anyone interested should look at the Better Business Bureau site.

These guys get 1 or 2 out of a possible 5. Their Yelp review is 1 1/2 out of 5. Do your research and you will absolutely go somewhere else.

Pathetic and embarrassing for them. Good luck to all!

Microwave

Purchased a microwave from Gerhards two years ago. The Magnatron when out out recently. Called Gerhards they sent a tech out and he told us it would cost 450.00 to repair and it would be better to buy a new microwave. So I called the manufacture and they told me it was still under warranty and they would send someone out to fix it at no cost. U think maybe Gerhards rep would of told me this on the phone. I'll never go there again. Plus have friends who have had nothing but problems with them also. I also checked into replacing the part myself. It would cost 100.00 and can be done by a homeowner.

How is Gerhard's responsible for you not calling the proper place for repair? You called them for service and they gave you an estimate for repair.

Very simple. It's not their fault that you didn't think of the warranty. Yeah, I know you bought the microwave from them, but it's not up to them to memorize the warranty information on everything they sell. It's up to the customer to read the information given with each appliance.

Grow up and stop bad mouthing a store because of your stupidity.
